Life Updates and Mercies that are New Every Morning
Hello everyone! Sorry for my long absence, but I am officially done with my sophomore year of college! (Hooray!) Words cannot express how happy I am that the academic year has come to a close because who doesn't enjoy getting to sleep, right? Haha! Words also cannot express how flabbergasted I am to be a junior when I go back to university in the Fall. Where have the past two years gone?! While I moved back home in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, I have been spending my time since the semester ended reading "The Lord of the Rings," trying out new recipes, going on long walks and, of course, spending time with my family. Although my spiritual life has not been the best lately, and I have come to realize profoundly how much I truly did depend on Jesus and receiving Him in the Eucharist for EVERYTHING, this time has not been entirely unfruitful. For what is better than realizing just how dependent we are on God for everything? Furthermore, because of the pandemic, my mission trip to Tanzania was also cancelled. And while I only had several more hundred dollars to raise out of over three thousand, God was so good to me because the sacrifice came during Holy Week. And although I am very disappointed that I will not be going, I have the hope that something even better is coming, for did not Good Friday come before Easter Sunday? I am convinced that this, like all things, is working out for my good because that's just how our God is. For truly His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23).
Ad maiorem Dei gloriam.
P.S. I recommend reading the entirety of Lamentations 3 because I believe it is so fitting for what we are currently experiencing with the COVID-19 pandemic! God bless!
