Pray, Hope and Don't Worry

As I'm sure many of you know, the Amazon Synod closed today. I'm not going to lie, I'm scared. I'm heartbroken and am wondering how God is going to pull us through this. But, thanks to Him, I know He will. Why? Because He said so: "And I say to thee: Thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18). A priest once told my little sister that during dark times, when we are in the valley of the shadow of death, THIS is the time when we remember God's promises, when we find the most hope in them. Because His Word never fails, and it will NEVER return to Him empty or void (Isaiah 55:11). This is why when God makes a promise, He NEVER breaks it. While mankind might, God never has and never will. Our God is goodness itself, and though He may seem far away at the moment, and though we may wonder where He is, know first of all that it is US, not Him, that is far, and also trust me when I say that He is here, for again He said so: "[B]ehold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world" (Matthew 28:20). He is here with us now, in the midst of our suffering, and if we think WE are suffering, think of how much more He is! God loves us so much, and His Most Sacred Heart breaks to see the evil that not only infects the world, but now also His Bride, Holy Mother Church. But where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more (Romans 5:20). For is not by our Beloved Savior's Sacred Heart, broken by the lance, that we have the very Fountain of Mercy itself? So we have to wait, and trust, and pray. This is what we can and should do. For as Blessed Pier Giorgio said: "For those such as us who have the precious gift of the Faith, prayers serve more than anything else to implore Peace." Also, as the parish priest in my hometown said, if any of what was "approved" (it was NOT ex cathedra, so it doesn't mean anything and is NOT required) shows up in your own parish, vehemently reject it. Be courages and do not allow them to gain ground on your own turf. For that parish is YOURS. And please know that God has not forsaken us. He is with us just as He was with Jesus on the Cross. Though the days are dark, it will not be long before the dawn breaks forth. After all, there is no Easter Sunday if there is not first Good Friday. God bless you all.
Ad maiorem Dei gloriam.
