I Have Found My Way

It was April 28th, a Sunday. But not just any Sunday, Divine Mercy Sunday. Since the feast of the Annunciation I had been preparing for my consecration to Merciful Love - Saint Therese of Lisieux’s own consecration and little way of trust and surrender to Divine Mercy - using Father Michael Gaitley’s 33 Days to Merciful Love, (a book I highly recommend to everyone). After Mass, I came back to my dorm room and started weeping. My heart broke that night. But through its breaking, it was able to open itself to a torrent of Jesus’ Merciful Love. Through its breaking, and the acceptance of God’s Will, my heart was able to make the consecration, I feel, with little to no reservation. After that – that same day actually – I started preparing for my Marian consecration that was to take place on the feast of the Visitation – the feast day I had originally chosen before I thought that I wasn’t going to make it after all. (For years Jesus has been trying to get me to consecrate myself to Mary, but for one reason or another, I never had until this year, thanks to Many Hail Mary’s at a Time!) Ever since making my consecrations, I have wondered how I could live them in harmony. Yes, they are not opposed, but still I struggled with this, until yesterday, when I came across this quote: “Therese saw Our Lady as a model and inspiration for all who follow the Little Way. ‘The number of little souls upon the earth is great,’ she said, ‘and they can, without fear, raise their eyes to Mary’. For Therese the Little Way is also Mary’s way, a way of love, confidence and trust, without great deeds or outward show, reflected in the hidden life of Nazareth” (saintthereseofliseiux Instagram Page). I have found my way. This is my way. The Little Way not only of Saint Therese, “my sister in the way of humble confidence,” but also the Way of my Most Blessed Mother.

P.S. What better day to have found this out on than the Solemnity of the Assumption?! If we follow Mary’s Way to Jesus, we will be sure to spend eternity with Christ and her in Heaven!
Ad maiorem Dei gloriam.
